Indian Trade Minister Piyush Goyal stated on Monday at a conference that Apple Inc. is planning to boost its production in the country, calling this "another success story."

''They are already at about 5-7% of their manufacturing in India. If I am not mistaken, they are targeting to go up to 25% of their manufacturing. They launched the most recent models from India, manufactured in India," Goyal shared.

Meanwhile, according to the data seen by the Economic Times, Apple exported $1 billion worth of smartphones from India in December 2022, making it the first company to achieve such numbers in a single month in the country.
