Major stock exchanges in the United States recorded losses in premarket on Monday as investors braced for the Federal Reserve to release its latest monetary policy decision on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the earnings season is expected to peak this week, with giants such as McDonald's, General Motors, Amazon, Meta, Apple, Alphabet and many more to reveal their quarterly fiscal reports.

The Dow Jones slid 0.55% or 186 points at 4:18 am ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 dropped 0.94% and the S&P 500 lost 0.71%. The euro rose 0.19% against the dollar at 4:19 am ET, to sell for 1.08859.
