India registered 15,144 new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's health authorities announced on Sunday. The update took the Indian coronavirus case tally to 10,557,985.

The number of COVID-19 deaths in the country rose by 181 to a total of 152,274.

Meanwhile, India stressed its recovery rate is now 96.58% while active cases of the virus amount for 1.98% of all cases.
