Danske might cut more than 1,600 jobs - CEO

Danske Bank CEO Chris Vogelzang announced on Thursday that the company might be forced to let go more than 1,600 of its employees due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic and in order to see through its cost-cutting program.

The initial figure of 1,600 positions was unveiled in October when Vogelzang explained that some of the layoffs will be achieved through voluntary redundancy agreements and natural attrition.

In its earnings report published earlier in the day, Danske Bank noted that it has let go 700 workers so far.
