Israel to give one million COVID jabs to Palestine

Israel unveiled on Friday that it intends to give at least one million Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccines to Palestine in order to help the region with its vaccination rollout.

According to a statement released by the prime minister's office, the decision has been made because Israel has enough vaccines in its current stockpile to cover its needs, and is giving the vaccines that are near their expiration date so that they can be used rather than destroyed.

The transfer isn't a donation, however, as Israel will get the one million jabs back in September or October, from Pfizer shipments that were meant to go to Palestine then.
