Major stock exchanges on Wall Street dropped below the flatline in the premarket on Thursday as the markets follow the negative trend from the previous session prompted by the Federal Reserve's much-anticipated decision to hike its interest rate.

Before the opening bell, traders will receive the latest data on the country's initial jobless claims, with corporate earnings by FedEx and Costco published after the markets close.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 0.08% at 7:48 am ET. At the same time, Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 decreased by 0.35% and 0.23% respectively. However, the euro rose to 0.26% against the American currency, to change hands to $0.98621 a minute later.
