Newly reelected President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said on Saturday that his government's foreign policy focus will be on "issues of mutually beneficial cooperation and strategic partnership" with Russia and China, as well as central Asian countries, as Kazakhstan continues to "protect national interests."

However, he also vowed to "make every effort to develop multifaceted cooperation" with other partners, including the United States and the European Union. Tokayev won the Kazakh presidential election earlier this week with over 80% of the ballots.
