Asia-Pacific trades mixed amid COVID-19 worries

Equities in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Wednesday after India reported another significant daily rise in infections from COVID-19. Traders will also keep an eye on several economic updates the United States and the European Union will release during the day, including the ones about the Eurozone's producer prices and the US employment change.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng went down by 0.56% at 7:21 am CET. Australia's S&P/ASX rose by 0.45% a minute later. Meanwhile, the dollar stood flat against the yen, selling for ¥109.3050 at 7:23 am CET.

Markets in mainland China, Japan, and South Korea were closed for the day amid state holiday observances.
