Linde's Q1 sales at $7.2 billion, up by 7% YoY

Linde PLC revealed on Thursday its sales in the first quarter of 2021 came in at $7.2 billion, which marks a rise of 7% in comparison to the same period last year. Its income from continuing operations surged by 71% to reach $979 million.

The company's first-trimester operating profit was $1.213 billion, growing by 65% compared to the same time in 2020. Meanwhile, its diluted earnings per share (EPS) saw an annual increase of 74% to amount to $1.86.

"The resilience of our business model coupled with the ability to leverage any economic recovery has allowed Linde to continue delivering stellar results," the firm's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Steve Angel said. "I have confidence the company will continue to create significant shareholder value for years to come."

Linde's shares rose by 1.27% in premarket trading after the release of the report.
