Japan's unemployment rate landed at 2.7% on a monthly seasonally adjusted basis, according to a report by the nation's Statistics Bureau released Monday.

The figure improved by 0.1 percentage point when compared to the jobless rate seen in September, while the ratio of job openings to applicants decreased to 1.15 on a monthly basis, marking a reduction in the availability of jobs per applicant.

The majority of job losses occurred due to people quitting their jobs voluntarily, while the largest percentage of new employees was hired in the wholesale and retail trade industries.
