US closes lower following data

Major stock markets in the United States closed lower on Friday, as investors digested the latest data reports on the state of the economy. While factory orders were up in October, the services sector saw mixed results in November. Meanwhile, nonfarm employment increased less than expected.

The Dow Jones ended the session by 0.17% in the red, as Microsoft dropped 1.97%. The Nasdaq 100 was down by 1.74% at the closing bell, with DocuSign plummeting 42.22%. The S&P 500 closed 0.85% lower, as Adobe fell 8.24%.

The euro gained 0.10% against the dollar changing hands for $1.13093 at 4:00 pm ET.
