EIA: Crude oil inventories in US down by 6.4M barrels

Commercial crude oil stockpiles in the United States decreased by 6.42 million barrels to 417.4 million barrels in the week ending September 10, the US Energy Information Administration reported on Wednesday.

For the same period, crude oil imports averaged 5.8 million barrels per day last week, which is a weekly drop of 48,000 barrels. Gasoline production decreased to 9.3 million barrels per day. Total commercial petroleum inventories declined by 8.8 million barrels last week.

Lastly, crude oil refinery inputs in the US averaged 14.4 million barrels per day, increasing by 85,000 barrels per day when compared to the average registered the previous week. Refineries operated at 82.1% of their operable capacity.
