Europe opens higher amid the Forum, COVID data

European equities traded higher at the opening of the week's first session in anticipation of the Deutsche Bundesbank's release on Germany's economic outlook. During the day, the markets will closely follow the activity of the World Economic Forum, as well as new information on COVID-19.

The DAX rose 0.31% at 9:02 am CET, with Fresenius Medical Care going up 2.17%. The FTSE 100 climbed 0.12%, while GlaxoSmithKline added 5.02%, and the CAC 40 increased 0.35%, as Renault grew 2.27%.

The euro gained 0.10% at 8:58 am CET to sell for $1.14255, and the pound sterling stood flat against the greenback going for $1.36826 at the same time.
