Prices of oil recorded losses on Tuesday ahead of the United States American Petroleum Institute's (API) latest weekly report on the country's crude inventories.

Meanwhile, major stock markets in the US lost momentum after registering gains at the start of today's session amid the uncertainty caused by the news of property developer Evergrande Group's over-indebtedness.

Brent for November's settlements decreased by 0.21% at 11:32 am ET to sell for $72.46 per barrel. A minute later, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for deliveries in October declined by 0.24% to go for $70.28 per barrel.
