Over 80% of Just Eat's shareholders agreed to accept Takeaway's offer valued at €6.93 billion, Takeaway stated on Friday. After the deal is finalized, the company will become one of the world's biggest meal delivery businesses.

"Just Eat Takeaway.com is a dream combination and I am very much looking forward to leading the company for many years to come," Takeaway's CEO Jitse Groen stated, adding that he is very happy about the approved deal.

Earlier in December, Just Eat's board backed the offer made by Takeaway, dismissing Prosus' final offer valued at €6.44 billion.
