Russia and Turkey signed on Tuesday a new agreement on the supply of the second S-400 regiment, with military representative Dmitry Shugaev confirming the implementation of the contract was already underway.

"There is no reason to believe that a missile system could be created by any country in the upcoming years that could get near the S-400 missile system in terms of its performance," Shugaev told reporters on the sidelines of the 10th Moscow International Security Conference.

Moscow agreed with Ankara to supply the first batch of S-400 systems in 2017, prompting the United States to request Turkey to withdraw from the deal due to being a NATO member. Ankara noted deliveries would continue despite western sanctions over the S-400 acquisition.
