Europe opens higher with data in focus

Major European stock markets opened with gains on Wednesday as investors awaited PMI data, as well as the monthly report from the German Bundesbank and the United States Federal Reserve meeting minutes due later in the day.

The Euro Stoxx 50 climbed 0.30% at 9:00 am CET. Prosus led the gains, increasing by 2.38%.

The FTSE 100 added 0.31% at 9:00 am CET with Glencore gaining 2.16%.

The DAX was up 0.10% at 9:03 am CET. Covestro was the best performer as its shares jumped 1.97%.

The CAC 40 increased 0.23% at 9:03 am CET with Kering climbing 1.49%.

The euro rose 0.42% compared to the dollar to sell for 1.03444 at 8:59 am CET and the pound gained 0.12% against the US currency to go for 1.19042 at the same time.
