Dow dips 350 pts at close as Apple, Microsoft plummet

Shares on major stock markets in the United States closed Thursday's session in the red territory with the Dow Jones plunging more than 350 index points pulled down by tech giants' losses.

Apple is reportedly facing probes in several states in the United States over antitrust issues, while media reported that the coronavirus pandemic forced a delay of a launch event for the company's 5G iPhone series to late October.

The Dow lost 1.31% at the closing bell with Apple plummeting more than 4%, while the Nasdaq 100 slumped 2.67% as Citrix Systems sank nearly 13%. The S&P 500 surrendered 1.23% at the same time as Allegion PLC went down by more than 8%.

The euro traded 0.20% higher against the dollar, changing hands for 1.15928 at 3:58 pm ET.
