Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered on Wednesday PJSC Gazprom to increase its supplies of gas in its facilities in Europe, namely in Germany and Austria.

Putin told the company to do so after it completes filling Russia's supplies. Gazprom will thus "rhythmically fulfill" its contractual obligations and "certainly create a more favorable situation on the European energy market as a whole," he added.

Gazprom's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alexey Miller later confirmed the company will fulfill the order.
