Dollar reverses losses against euro, pound

The United States dollar reversed yesterday's losses against the euro and the British pound, bouncing back on Thursday. Recent central banks' monetary policy moves across the globe most likely contributed to the volatility on the currency market.

While hawkish Federal Reserve remarks possibly boosted the dollar, the Bank of England's most recent intervention seemingly made way for the euro and the pound to shortly recover in the previous day's trading.

The euro slid 0.78% against the American currency, changing hands for 0.96594 at 1:55 am ET. The British pound tumbled 1.14% compared to the dollar, going for 1.07652 simultaneously. A minute later, the greenback gained 0.35% against the Japanese yen, trading at 144.6540.
