Dow, S&P 500 slump after jobs data release

Major United States stock markets turned mixed Wednesday after investors received the latest data on job openings and ahead of the highly anticipated speech by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.

According to the latest release, job openings in the country decreased in October compared to the previous month to stand at 10.3 million, down by 353,000.

The Dow Jones lost 230 points or 0.69% at 10:27 am ET, while the S&P 500 declined by 0.37%. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 added 0.18%. The euro improved by 0.11% against the dollar a minute later, selling for $1.03367.
