Europe closes higher ahead of Fed's conference

Major stock markets in Europe closed higher on Wednesday ahead of the United States Federal Reserve's latest decision on interest rates. Earlier, Germany's government estimated the country's economy will go back to the level it was at before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022.

The DAX traded 2.17% or 327 points higher at the close as Covestro AG surged by 5.73%. The FTSE 100 grew by 1.41%, with International Consolidated Airlines Group SA expanding by 7.39%. The CAC 40 increased by 2.09% as Renault SA rose by 5.93%.

The euro lost 0.21% to the dollar to sell for $1.12812 at 5:29 pm CET. At the same time, the pound sterling stood flat against the greenback to go for $1.35150.
