Major European markets closed lower on Friday as concerns about the coronavirus pandemic continued to grow. Although the June PMI data from the Eurozone, Germany, and the United Kingdom showed mostly positive results, traders remained cautious over the rising number of COVID-19 infections. Meanwhile, a report suggested the European Union and the UK are in talks over London joining the bloc's coronavirus vaccine purchase plan.

The Dax went down by 0.82% at the closing with Beiersdorf AG decreasing by 1.97%. The FTSE 100 dropped by 1.57% as Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC lost 9.68%. The CAC 40 fell by 1.07% with Peugeot declining by 2.56%.

The euro and the pound both stood flat against the dollar at 5:28 pm CET to sell for $1.12414 and $1.24661, respectively.
