Dow up over 200 pts in premarket on vaccination news

Shares in the United States traded higher in the premarket after Operation Warp Speed's Chief Scientific Adviser Dr. Moncef Slaoui stated the vaccination against COVID-19 in the country could begin on December 11, raising hopes the pandemic might end soon. Traders will also keep an eye on the upcoming report on manufacturing and services, as well as on an economic update that will be presented by Federal Reserve's Mary Daly later in the day.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 0.74%, or 218 points, at 4:30 am ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 went up by 0.46%, while the S&P 500 rose by 0.70%.

The euro gained 0.16% to the dollar to sell for $1.18775 at 4:27 am ET.
