Orban: Hungary to veto EU budget without new proposal

Thursday, 26. November 2020 11:28

Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Thursday that his country still plans to veto the European Union 2021-27 budget as it hasn't received any new proposals from Brussels.

The main concerns for Hungary and Poland are related to the rule of law condition that is part of the budget draft.

While German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas expects a quick solution on the matter, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen claims that the new rules can be tested at the European Court of Justice.
