The euro tumbled to a new 7-year low against the Swiss franc on Thursday.

The currency last saw such a decrease when the Swiss National Bank dismissed the cap on buying the euro for 1.20 Swiss franc in 2015, which was the main reason for the flash crash. Recently, the euro has been volatile, as the bloc remains concerned over its economic prospects.

The euro lost 0.80% against the Swiss franc, to sell for 0.95394 at 1:15 pm CET. Meanwhile, the currency was flat against the dollar at 1:20 pm CET, trading for 0.99775. The euro rose 0.28% against the British pound, going for 0.86715 a minute later.
